"I've known Maria, Lucia and Angella since our joint years of studies. I very much admire the Ahn Trio's individual style of expression, which they developed over the years, as much as the energy, passion and professionalism the three sisters have always put into their music. In the course of time they created an own new genre, which is truly genuine."
(Eckart Runge, cellist of the Artemis Quartett and of celloproject, about the Ahn Trio)
The unconventional Ahns from New York have had the unique knack for many years of constantly thrilling a large audience and at the same time convincing the critics. Some twenty composers have already written new works for the innovative piano trio. New York's Newsday described them as "the new classical revolutionaries" and they are often compared with the Kronos Quartett. After three successful CDs with EMI Classics, this celebrated trio signed a new, long-term recording contract with SONY BMG in 2008.
